The Longest Void
This week gets off to a non-start, as the Moon will be Void for two whole days (4:26a Monday through 11:44p Tuesday). Yes, you read that right. In the decade I’ve been writing the AstroCast, I’ve never seen a Void last that long. The key thing to remember about anything done or begun under a Void Moon is that nothing comes of it. That’s why you don’t want to schedule that job interview, client pitch or first date during one of these times, because it won’t pan out the way you expect—if at all.
MONDAY will be the more disorienting of the two days courtesy of a nebulous Neptune clouding the Sun and adding uncertainty and lethargy to the mix. If ever there was a day to practice the Tao principal of “weiwu” (the art of non-doing), this is it. Don’t make any plans, and you won’t be disappointed. Since nothing significant is likely to be accomplished, why not play catch up by dispatching with mundane chores that would bog you down on a more productive day? Or not. If you're just looking for a chunk of time to slack off, this cosmic-sanctioned timeout will provide plenty of air cover (in the form of delays, cancellations and general confusion), to help you escape detection. Whichever route you choose, remember, Void Moons aren’t necessarily “bad,” they’re just unpredictable.
TUESDAY will be the more energetic day, as the Sun will be invigorated by an upbeat Jupiter. Although you’ll still want to avoid scheduling important meetings or presentations, this would be a good time to let spontaneity reign and go with the flow. While extended Void periods can be erratic, they can also be surprisingly inspirational, making them great for brainstorming and experimentation and often delivering real aha moments. New Moon in Cancer: Pregnant with Promise
A New Moon is the best time each month to plant seeds for something fresh to materialize in your life, and WEDNESDAY’s, in nurturing Cancer, fosters an especially fertile environment for growth. With favorable input from optimistic Jupiter and motivated Mars, this prolific Moon will imbue you with the entrepreneurial spirit and drive to set long-cherished dreams into motion. While the week did not get off to a productive start, it winds up with two of the most fruitful days we’ve seen in a long while. They’re especially rewarding because the Moon is now waxing in strength, making these next two days and weeks opportune for launching new initiatives.
Your brain will be firing on all cylinders THURSDAY, when the Cancer Moon presides over a Mensa reunion between clever Mercury and innovative Uranus. This burst of brain power, coexisting with Cancer’s exceptional instincts will be exciting your intellect and imagination and daring you to express your originality. If you’ve reached an impasse on a problem or in a relationship, this dynamic frees you to go off script and find novel solutions. There’s also a fortuitous alliance with a charismatic Venus, urging you to make new contacts and expand your network. Go forth and circulate!
FRIDAY’s majestic Leo Moon will be working in synch with shrewd Mercury and enterprising Saturn. This ambitious trio will rouse your inner CEO, encouraging you to brandish your leadership abilities. It also endows you with determination and confidence, and will aid you in crafting artful strategies to achieve your goals. A lineup of cosmic clout like this doesn’t come along every day, and the fact that it’s being fueled by a waxing Moon, makes it especially powerful. WEEKEND FORECAST
We’ll enjoy the Leo Moon’s more creative side on SATURDAY. Not only will Venus be enhancing Leo’s innate artistry, but a prolific collaboration between articulate Mercury and visionary Neptune will be lending copious amounts of imagination and inspiration, making it easier to express your brilliance. Follow your creative passions during the day and your romantic ones, come evening, because Saturday is the best date night this week!
Although the Moon will be in industrious Virgo on SUNDAY, it will not be all work, no play. True, there will be some bothersome cosmic static to contend with in the morning, which will nag you about tackling all your to-do’s. The good news is that your diligence will be rewarded later in the day, when a rollicking Jupiter and feisty Mars show up looking for a good time, making Sunday the best party night this week!
